1. The Possibilities of Gates

Psalm 118:19-21 –  Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord: 20 This gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter. 21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation

Genesis 28:17 – And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

Matthew 16:18 – And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Job 38:17 – Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

Nahum 2:6 – The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

Genesis 22:17 – That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

Joshua 6:1 – Now Jericho was straightly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.

Psalm 107:15-16 – Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

Job 5:4 – His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.

2. The Purpose and Meaning of Gates

The purpose of gates/doors is to keep what is outside outside and what is inside inside. Judges 16:1-3, Matt 25:6-12. As we know, gates are erected to control entry and exit into a House, Office Complex, Estate, Town or City.

• It is an opening in a wall or fence
• It is a movable barrier
• It is a place of decision
• It is a strong hold
• It is a place of arrest and detention
• It is a place of screening
• It is a place of settlement
• It is a place of refusal
• It is place of judgement and justice – Joshua 20:4

However, the physical gate we see erected, are not what shut people from their destiny. All truths are parallel, as there are physical gates, so also are there spiritual gates. Therefore, besides the physical gates visible to human eyes, there are invisible gates present in Heaven, on Earth, under the Water or in the heart of Men.

Many hope has been dashed and lives rendered useless because of the limitation imposed by the operations of these invisible “GATES”. Many people have been shut out of their inheritance.

• Gates are so important that if your gates are locked, you will remain outside! If you want to succeed in life, your gates must be opened! The reason for failure in life is a gate, the reason for poverty is a gate. The reason for delay in marriage is a gate.
• Existence of gates are limitations people experience and yet unseen, but their manifestations are visible.
• Therefore, one cannot fulfill destiny or enjoy his life, unless he identifies the spiritual gates involved and use the weapon of spiritual warfare to deal with them.
• There are GATEMEN behind every gate! Therefore, the forces behind the gates must be disarmed if you must rise above your circumstances and attain the optimum level ordained for you in life.
• There is a gate to every progression or retrogression in life. For instance, there is a gate between
• life and death
• education and illiteracy
• good health and sickness e.g. the crippled man at the beautiful gate
• being single and getting married
• getting rich and remaining in poverty
• being born again and remaining a sinner
• Heaven and Hell
• You may be qualified and may have passed through the academic gates with your certificates but the gates of employment must be passed before you can be gainfully employed. Some people are refused or delayed at the gate of employment!
• God remembered Rachel and opened her womb – Genesis 30:22
  • The womb has a door, when it is shut, there is barrenness!
• Gates differ in size, in strength, in age and in design! Talks of iron gate in Acts 12.
  • The strength of the gate, the type of personnel manning the gates and age of the gate points to what treasure is inside the gate.

• The Gates even challenged and questioned the King of Glory – Psalm 24

• If they take over your gates, they take over your life.

At the gates, you will find the following people

• Police officers
• Immigration officers
• Money changers
• Drug Law Enforcement Officers
• Custom officers
• Health/Quarantine officers, Prison officers etc.

There are the following equipment and facilities at the gates

• Sniffing Dogs
• X-ray Machines
• Scanning Machines
• Fire Trucks etc 

3. The Power of the ALMIGHTY GATE

John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

• All gates open to Jesus because
  • He is the Door – the Ultimate GATE
  • He has the MASTER KEY – Revelation 3:7
  • He cannot be shut out or shut in!
  • When he shuts no one can open and when he opens no man can shut -Revelation 3:
  • All doors open to those who are with him e.g. Acts 12:5-11

Revelation 3:8 – I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

• What to do if you want all doors to be opened to you

1. Accept Jesus as Lord and friend
2. Recognise or Identify your gate
3. Pray against the gates in the name of Jesus (the Almighty Gate)
4. Prayers at the Gates – Isaiah 45:1–3
5. Every gate of the enemy anchoring bondage, stubborn problems and delay in my life be uprooted by the holy ghost fire in the name of Jesus.
6. Let all the unseen gates working mischief in my life, be uprooted in the name of Jesus.
7. Gates challenging my breakthroughs, testimonies, etc. be lifted up in Jesus name
8. I uproot and throw out of my life, the gates promoting activities of hell in Jesus name.
9. I command the demolition of all the satanic gates standing against me in Jesus name.
10. My gates be open continually to receive blessings in Jesus name (Isaiah 60:11).
11. I command you gate of the strong city BE YE LIFTED UP that I may come into my possession now!!! in the name of Jesus.
12. O Gates of embassy, immigration be open & admit me by the blood of Jesus!
13. I blow trumpets of fire against the gates locking me out of my possessions in Jesus name.
14. O Gates of plenty and prosperity: O-P-E-N by fire unto me in the name of Jesus
15. Any evil door I have opened to the enemies be shut by fire, in the name of Jesus.
16. Every effect of any evil gate I have gone through in the time past, be reversed today
17. My enemies shall not possess the gate of my life, in the name of Jesus.
18. Let divine thunder scatter every evil meeting held against me at any evil gates, in Jesus.
19. Gate of sorrow in my life be replaced with gate of joy, in the name of Jesus
20. Satanic gatekeepers in charge of gates before me, be arrested and be detained by Holy Ghost fire.
