Sermon Description
Ecclesiastes 8:17 – Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea farther; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
- The Words of Fact
- Our God is incomprehensible. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” – Romans 11:33.
- He delivered the children of Israel from Pharaoh and in the Red Sea; Daniel from the den of lions and his colleagues from the fiery furnace but allowed Satan to attack Job though testified of his good standing with him.
- Why did He raise Pharaoh to be destroyed & declared “…Esau have I hated…”– Rom.9:11-17
- Man would get more confused when we remember that John the Baptist could be killed for saying the right thing. Can we fathom the reason God allowed all the apostles except one to die unnatural deaths? Only God knows!
- God have attributes which are incommunicable and absolute or immanent!
- God is a Spirit – John 4:24; Acts 17:24. That means He is not flesh and blood – He does not have a corruptible (terrestrial, earthly, mortal, perishable) body like man. Yet He is a Person, for He has an incorruptible (celestial, heavenly, immortal, imperishable) body. He was neither made nor born. He is not subject to the limitations and temptations of men – James 1:13.
- God is eternal – He has neither beginning nor end of days. Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 57:15; Deuteronomy 32:40; 33:27; Psalm 135:13; 145:13; I Timothy 1:17; Revelation 1:8.
- God is infinite. Jeremiah 23:24 – Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord; Acts 17:27,28; Psalm 139:7-13. He is not subject to the limitation of space: He is omnipresent. There is nowhere man can hide that God cannot fish him out.
- God is immutable. God is constant – He does not change. Kingdoms rise and fall, but God remains the same. He neither increases nor decreases. Hebrews 1:11,12; James 1:17; Num. 23:19; Mal. 3:6
- The Weakness of Man. Every man is weak without God. Finite man cannot comprehend the infinite God. He does what He wills and performs acts beyond human understanding. God does not work in our own ways – Ecclesiastes 8:4. Adam – Genesis 3:4-8; Elijah – 1 Kings 19:1-4. Job 8:9 – For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow.
- Nebuchadnezzar thought he had all the power, but God sobered him, sent him to eat grass with animals for seven years. Pharaoh wanted to fight God, but he realised late he was not a match to the Man of War. Man is weak at the face of death. Death does not respect wealth or power. There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it – Ecclesiastes 8:8. Herod!
- The Ways of God – Isaiah 55:9-11; Habakkuk 3:6
- God has His own ways and they are called the highways of God. It is also called the old paths. They are the hidden ways as it is not everyone that have discovered it.
- The ways of God bring rest to humanity. Jeremiah 6:16; Job 28:7-11; Matthew 11:28-29
- The ways of God cut through the impossibilities of life. The Red Sea represented a barrier but inside the barrier, is a way with God. Psalm 77:19 – Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known
- The greatest need of the last days is the discovery of the Ways of God – Isaiah 2:1-4. HOW?
- The ways of God are in the voice of God – Romans 8:14, 1 Timothy 4:1. The voice of the Spirit is the alarm bell for the escape in the last days. Those who hear God don’t suffer with men. When you hear what others do not hear, you escape from what others can’t escape! Every escape from tragedies in scripture started from “thus saith the Lord”. The security is in the voice!
- The ways of God are in the Word of God – Psalm 119:105. If you have no priority in His Word, you will have no destiny in His plan. Inside His Word are His plans & secrets.
- The ways of God are in the house of God – Psalm 77:13 – Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? The best of God is found in His House.
- It is a Highway of Holiness – Isaiah 35:8 – And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
- The Works of God – Jeremiah 32:17,27
- The Almightiness of God is the answer to the wickedness of the enemy
- It is the answer to the impossibilities of life
- The Almightiness of God establishes the faithfulness of God. His power establishes His Word.
- It establishes the limitlessness of God. He cannot be hindered or stopped.
- It is the answer to Human Helplessness – Hebrew 4:16
- It is the doorway to the resources (lavish abundance) of God.
- The Almightiness of God overrules the verdicts and decrees of man!
- His power divided the red sea Swallowed the serpents of the magicians
- Destroyed all the gods of Egypt Killed Korah, Dathan and Abiram
- Divided River Jordan sank the walls of Jericho
- Delivered from the lions den and from the fiery furnace
- Set Paul & Silas free and peter from the Prison.
- Gave children to the barren raised the dead and does all things…
What to Do to Experience His Works (HIS ALMIGHTINESS)
- One, we must worship or reverence Him.
- Two, we should develop faith in Him, which will move us to obedience.
- Three, we should give ourselves to prayer & supplication, knowing that in whatever area we lack, God is more than sufficient for all our need (1Pet 2:17; Rev 22:9; Gen 15:1-6; Exo 34:5-9).
